地理 stimulates an interest in and a sense of wonder about places. It helps make sense of a complex and ever changing world. It explains where places are, how places and landscapes are formed, how people and their environment interact, and how a diverse range of economies, societies and environments are interconnected. It builds on pupils own experiences to investigate places at all scales, from the personal to the global.
Key Stage 3
学生们 learn about people and places on local, national and international scales. Geographical skills including map work, unpacking images, problem solving, description, analysis and ICT are developed.
- 7年 study units are: ‘地理 Matters’, ‘Amazing Maps’, ‘Fantastic Places’, Wicked Weather & Curious Climates
- 8年 study units are: Study units are: ‘Impossible Places’, ‘Best of Britain’, ‘Environmental Concerns’, Country Studies and ‘Amazing Coasts’ and fieldwork based on the Coastal unit
- 今年9 study units are: ‘Ecosystems’, ‘Dynamic Earth’, ‘Developing World with a focus on Africa’
Key Stage 4
学生们 learn about people, the environment and physical processes at a local, national and international scale using a variety of geographical skills including fieldwork (both human and physical). GCSE modules for study include: Living with the Physical Environment (including Natural Hazard, Living World and Physical Landscapes); Challenges in the Human Environment (including Urban Issues, Changing Economic World and Resource Management) and Geographical Applications (including Issues Evaluation and Fieldwork Skills).

学生们 study over the two years: ‘Physical Systems’ (including Landscape Systems and Earth’s Life Support Systems); ‘Human Interactions’ (including Changing Spaces, Making Places and Global Connections); ‘Geographical Debates’ and ‘Independent Investigation’. One week of fieldwork is undertaken in North Wales. All papers are sat in the summer of Year 13.
